Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping

Many of you may be unfamiliar with Emotional Freedom Technique, EFT or Tapping.  EFT or Tapping is based on acupuncture points and utilizes acupressure areas to optimize emotional health by releasing emotional barriers or obstacles that result in keeping us stuck.  EFT facilitates the client in the removal of negative emotions; reduce food cravings, reduction or elimination of pain and the implementation of positive goals. 

EFT is a form of psychological acupressure, based on the energy meridians utilized in traditional Eastern acupuncture for over 5,000 years to treat emotional and physical illness with minimal invasiveness.  Utilizing tapping on specific energy meridians with fingertips, which also afford energy meridians.  The premise here is that the tapping is inputting kinetic energy onto those specific meridians on the head, face, collarbone and chest, while at the same time inputting positive affirmations.  This simultaneous tapping with positive affirmations is said to clear the “short circuit” or the emotional obstacle that prevents the client from moving forward in life.  Thereby balancing the energy and restoring the mind and the body’s balance which is essential for the body’s health and an immune system that facilitates the healing from physical disease.   On the left is a drawing of the traditional tapping points used in EFT.
